第一次约会是一部剧情,喜剧,爱情片，5O年代的台湾，文化上受着日本、美国、中国的不同文化的冲击下，可说十分复杂混乱。本片就是以5O年代纯朴台湾社会为背景，讲述一班青少年在这混乱的转接期下，他们所呈现出的热情、寂寞等自然而复杂的情绪。故事主角围绕四名高中学生杨家洛、游复生、顾才子、郭浩和班导刘国宝老师一段感人的师生情。片中更以诙谐的对白陈述和反省他们的成长历程。
In the 1950s, Taiwan's culture was impacted by different cultures of Japan, the United States and China, which can be said to be very complicated and chaotic. This film is based on the simple Taiwanese society in the 1950s. It tells about a group of young people's natural and complex emotions, such as enthusiasm and loneliness, during this chaotic transition period. The story focuses on four high school students, Yang Jialuo, you Fusheng, Gu Caizi, Guo Hao and Liu Guobao. In the film, they narrate and reflect on their growth with witty dialogue.
