Ekaterina is the ideal wife of Igor Ignatiev, the owner of a pharmaceutical company in the small town of Klinov. Katya has her own charitable foundation to help talented children. But the couple doesn't have children, although both spouses really want this. In her early youth, at the insistence of her mother, Katya had an abortion and broke up with her first love - Kostya, who did not forgive her for this \"betrayal\" and left for Moscow. When the long-awaited pregnancy finally arrived, the joy of this news was overshadowed by the suspicion that the child had Down syndrome. Having learned that the baby may be born sick, Igor insists that Katya terminate the pregnancy.
